Eight More Sleeps.

So since school is going to start whether I'm ready or not, I decided to go get ready.  Sigh.  But this year, I had plans for my classroom.  Pinterest is both marvelous and a pain in the caboose; I've been looking up pins like "classroom décor" and "pretty high school classrooms" and have subsequently felt shamed by my own domain's lack of curb appeal.  So clearly the only thing for it was a trip to Hobby Lobby!  Where I spent far too much of my hard-earned money on the loveliest of décor, but where I gathered bulletin board stuff and inspirations and indulgences of all sorts!  Hobby Lobby lures an unsuspecting teacher in with their 50% off signs--and I have been introduced to a Hobby Lobby app that allows 40% off the most expensive item in your basket if you just show the cashier your code.  So really... I actually SAVED my money by shopping there....  :-)

So here you will see several new features, including a book organizer that my dad made, a monogrammed bulletin board, and pics of my most recent travels.  And a Lilly Pulitzer background on my computer that matches my new Lilly Pulitzer agenda book.  I love when things match.  :-)

Here is my other bulletin board!  On this one, Hobby Lobby provided the "Live, Laugh, Love" signage, which is maybe a little trite, but I pulled quotes from the stories, novels, poetry, etc. that the kids will be reading this year to make the words relevant--lots of living, laughing, and loving in American and British literature.  You'd be surprised.  The little desk needs to be taken away, sadly; that desk is for student teachers, but I am sorry to report that I will not have one this semester.  Deep sigh.  So much grading on the horizon... but not for one week and one day.  Eight more blissful sleeps before the avalanche of papers and planning.

This week will be spent carefully--an adventure planned for Tuesday (stay tuned!), mani/pedi, cut/color, golf, one more summer book, pool party--all of these meticulously organized into the Lilly agenda to make sure every last drop of summer break has been wrung out!  --Starting now!  I'm going to spend some quality time with my book and drift off into a summer snooze.  Bonne nuit, mes amis!
