So in this box, I received instructions to fill out the paperwork that entitles me to ownership of one square foot of land of the Dunans Castle in Argyll County, Scotland, and with it, the honorary title of Lady! LADY AMANDA!!!!!!!! Gah!!! Too fabulous.
Also, with my one square foot, I'm welcome to come visit my castle any time I want, I can fish in the ravine on the castle's land, and I can order stationery with my new title and the official letterhead of Dunans Castle. Which I will most certainly be doing. In a few days, I'll be receiving my plot--numbered and mapped out, so when I go visit, I'll be able to stand on my land. :-) :-) Apparently, the family that owns this castle was floundering under the weight of bills and repairs for this property, and their answer was to sell the entire estate, one foot at a time, to people who would pay to become a laird or a lady. Seems that owning property on a castle in Scotland extends the owner the title of laird or lady, no matter what the size of the property is. I think this is a fantabulous system--a bit like buying and naming a star!
So take a look at "my" castle!
I'm hoping my square foot overlooks the forest or ravine; it'd be lovely for Lady Amanda to have a nice view to look at . . . . :-)
